The short answer
A deep clean addresses build-up rather than everyday mess. Where a standard clean keeps a home ticking over, a deep clean goes after grease, limescale, grout, skirtings, radiators, door frames and the edges of rooms that routine cleaning never reaches.
It takes considerably longer than a normal visit — often a full day for a family home — because most of the work is slow work.
Kitchen
The kitchen usually takes the largest share of the time. Grease migrates further than people expect, so we work outwards from the hob.
- Hob, splashback and extractor exterior degreased
- Cupboard doors, handles and kick boards
- Behind and beside appliances where they can be moved safely
- Sink, taps and drainer descaled
- Inside the microwave, and inside the fridge on request
Bathrooms
In a hard-water area like Hull, bathrooms are the second big job. Limescale needs dwell time; scrubbing dry scale simply scratches the surface it has formed on.
- Shower screen, tiles and grout treated
- Taps, shower head and waste descaled
- WC cleaned inside and out, including behind the pan
- Extractor fan cover cleaned
Everywhere else
The rest of the property is about detail rather than dirt: skirting boards, door frames, handles, switches, sockets, radiators, window sills and internal glass, plus high-level dusting.
Floors are always last, including vacuuming edges and under any furniture that moves easily.
What a deep clean will not do
It is cleaning, not restoration. Perished grout, pitted chrome, scratched glass and permanent staining will improve but not vanish. A good cleaner tells you that before taking your money.
Carpet and upholstery steam cleaning are separate specialist treatments, as is a full oven interior clean.
